What is Dental Bonding?
Dental bonding is a resin, a plastic that can permanently bond with dental enamel and the ceramics used in Porcelain Veneers, Fillings, and Crowns.

What is dental bonding used for?
It is not only used to secure porcelain restorations, but is also used as a restoration itself.  It is shaped on the front of your teeth to fill small gaps, chips, and cracks, and cover discolorations.

How can plastic be used to treat chips and cracks in teeth?
Dental bonding resin is a custom-blended plastic modified with additives to give it the desired properties, including strength, hardness, and toughness, and the proper color.

Who is a good candidate for dental bonding?
Anyone who has healthy teeth and gums, but has minor chips, cracks, gaps, and discolorations on their teeth.

How long does the process take?
The process of getting dental bonding shaped onto your teeth is much faster than getting porcelain veneers and/or crowns because it can be done right away in Dr. Birnbach's office.

How long do the results last?
In general, the results of dental bonding don't last as long as porcelain veneers, crowns, fillings, or onlays.  They can be expected to last several years, depending on how well you care for them.

If you would like to get rid of all those minor imperfections in your smile, call or email us at boldersmiles today to set up an initial consultation.  We'll determine what treatment is best for your situation.
